Anti-dumping measures applicable to imports of polyester staple fibres originating in the Republic of Korea |

In the Official Journal of the European Union, C 142 of 23.6.2009, was published a notice of initiation of a partial interim review of the anti-dumping measures applicable to imports of polyester staple fibres originating in the Republic of Korea. The request was lodged by Huvis Corporation, an exporting producer from the Republic of Korea. The review is limited in scope to the examination of dumping as far as this company is concerned. The product under review is synthetic staple fibres of polyesters, not carded, combed or otherwise processed for spinning, currently classifiable within CN code 5503 20 00. The measures currently in force are a definitive anti-dumping duty imposed by Council Regulation (EC) No 2852/2000 on imports of polyester staple fibres (‘PSF’) originating, inter alia, in the Republic of Korea, as amended by Council Regulation (EC) No 428/2005 and by Council Regulation (EC) No 412/2009. The Council, with the adoption of Regulation (EC) No 500/2009 of 11 June 2009, amended Regulation (EC) No 1212/2005 imposing a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of certain castings originating in the People's Republic of China. Regulation (EC) No 1212/2005 was revised in order to clarify the scope of the product covered by that Regulation and to insert that the product scope covers castings of non-malleable cast iron and of spheroidal graphite cast iron (ductile iron). In the Official Journal of the European Union, C 136 of 16 June 2009, was published a communication notice conerning the date of application of the protocols on rules of origin providing for diagonal cumulation between the Community, Algeria, Egypt, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Norway, Switzerland (including Liechtenstein), Syria, Tunisia, Turkey and West Bank and gaza Strip. The Council, with the adoption of Regulation (EC) No 499/2009, extended the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed by Regulation (EC) No 1174/2005 on imports of hand pallet trucks and their essential parts originating in the People's Republic of China to imports of the same product consigned from Thailand, wheter declared as originating in Thailand or not.
