Agreement between the CARIFORUM States and the EC
A new Economic Partenership Agreement between the CARIFORUM States and the European Community was signed on July 15th. The CARIFORUM States includes: Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, the Commonwealth of Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Grenada, the Republic of Guyana, the Republic of Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Christopher and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Republic of Suriname and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. The rules of origin are set out in Protol I of this Agreement.
AEO
The AEO status was introduced by Article 5a of the Community Customs Code as amended by Regulation (EC) no. 648/2005 (CC) and Articles 14a-14q of its Implementing Provisions as amended by Regulation (EC) no. 1875/2006 (CCIP). An Authorised Economic Operator can be defined as an economic operator who is reliable throughout the Community in the context of his customs related operations, and, therefore, is entitled to enjoy benefits throughout the Community.SG Customs Consultancy may advice and assist your company to prepare (what type of AEO should I apply, customs audit, etc.) and submit (assist your company to customs authorities) the AEO application. The modernized Customs Code
Regulation (EC) N. 450/2008 of the European Parliament and the Council, of 23 April 2008, laid down the Community Customs Code (Modernised Customs Code).
